What to expect in the Second as a Service blog?
Kyren Mearr CabellonHi readers 👋
Welcome to the Second as a Service blog!
The main question is - what value can you get from my blog?
Hopefully, a lot!
I will be talking about What is a Second? so you can be informed about what a Second is, what roles they usually take (and unusual roles), and why they are invaluable to leaders and growing businesses. We also will talk about the skills of a Second and what responsibilities you can assign to them so they can maximize the benefits they bring to your organization.
I am also still learning about a Second from Nathan & David's book as well as their articles and posts so as I learn more about them, I will also share that learning with you. I will write these articles as much as possible in a way that brings integrity to how they define Second.
Second (😏), I will talk about one of the things I love doing (and most Seconds do) - processes. My goal for this series is to share with you use cases of how I handled process inefficiencies and improvements, and what are the results - both in how people felt with the changes and how it affected the business.
I will do my best to write what I actually do rather than think about what I WOULD. This gives more integrity to the results as it's really observed and not assumed.
Third, while I talk about stories about inefficiencies and improvements in processes, I will also share with you ClickUp templates and other resources that I use to do these changes so I make sure that these are templates that I backed with actual work done.
Why ClickUp? I've used a lot of project management tools and by far, my personal preference, is ClickUp. I can confidently say that I 95% know the ins and outs of ClickUp - from creating a task to building automations (internally and externally). The 5% is the constant improvement that ClickUp does.
Lastly, books. I will write about the books I have read and what my insights are. I am very grateful to the people I have worked with so far that they have given me a big backlog 🤣 of books to read. Every one of them reflects different perspectives into leadership, business, values, and more. You can also say that it reflects the perspective of that person that has given me these books 💡 (which I just realized while writing this). These insights are more for me than for you because this will help me with writing as well as remembering what I have learned but I hope these help you as well and start that conversation with me.
Thank you for reading this introduction and what to expect in the next few days. I hope to see you soon.
